About me

Hello and welcome on my website! I guess you didn’t visit this page for nothing, so keep on reading and I will tell you a little bit about myself
Photography is one of my passions, with a special interest for animals and landscapes. There are many photographers that I admire, to name a few: Frans Lanting, Darwin Wiggett and Marc Adamus.
When I was a little boy, and my parents took me for a walk in the forest, there was a camera strapped around my neck. Not that I could actually shoot pictures with it, but I liked to play with it.
Probably at the age of twelve I got my first camera. It was a simple compactcamera, the Luxon 35 CX. My first SLR camera was a Praktica BX20s with several lenses. My photos from New Zealand where made with this camera. I will always keep it, because I have learned a lot with it.
Although it is a fine camera, the disadvantage of the Praktica is that it doesn’t have autofocus. That was the most important thing why I decided to buy a Nikon F75. I also switched from negative to slide films and started using a filmscanner to digitize my photos.
Digital SLR cameras where getting cheaper and scanning film was consuming a lot of my time. That is why I switched my F75 for a new Nikon D70. Most photos on this website were made with this camera.
With the D70, I use a few lenses (18-70, 70-300 and 105mm), a SB-600 flash, a Manfrotto tripod and monopod and several Cokin and Hitech filters. My digital workflow is based on an Apple iMac with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Elements.
